Total Solar Eclipse
Todos Santos, Baja California. July 11, 1991

After caravaning down over 900 miles and a stop to visit the giant sphere representing the Tropic of Cancer, we arrived at Todos Santos near the Southern tip of Baja California late in the afternoon of July 10th. Andrea, Nancy & Kevin, Dan, Ricky, Felix, our guide Pancho and I negotiated a dusty plantation road to a deserted beach on the Pacific Ocean. Under a very dark and star filled sky a roaring fire lit our faces that night as we talked and made plans for the big event the next day.

Late in the morning on the 11th, we witnessed the Great Eclipse of 1991 with its phenomenal 6 minutes and 52 seconds of totality in perfect weather and in fantastic company!

All shots on this page were made with a Meade 826c, 8" f/6 Newtonian, at prime focus using an Olympus OM-1 and Kodachrome 64 emulsion.
